Covered a fashion show at Stingaree for fellow photographer James Law this past Saturday, a local fashion designer debuted the most recent looks for the new season.
Stingaree’s rooftop set-up provided a great set-up for this fashion show, and while most photogs covered front/center, I like to get the variety in my photography, especially if I’m able to use theback-lighting technique. (See below)
If you’re not familiar, backlighting is a certain technique in which a photographer can make use of a light opposite from themselves to enhance the subject. More often than not, (for exampe in my photo below) the subject will be a backlit silhouette. Other times, a photographer can create rimlight or accent light to add definition to a subject.

Rebecca - Love these! I think the first couple photos are my favorite…they do a great job of telling the story of a fashion show…if that makes sense?December 12, 2010 – 1:36 pm
