Prohibition Photobooth

Recently shot a photo booth at a downtown venue “Bootlegger” for the season premier party of the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire”.

The venue had this awesome back-room that was specifically for guests who want to enjoy a speak-easy type vibe.  What’s really cool about the room is that when you order a drink, the bar is stacked with shot bottles – instead of making the drink for you, the bartender serves you a platter with the ingredients in these little miniatures, and you make it yourself.

For the concept of the booth, I decided to get a few boas, tommy guns, fedors, cigarette holders, and feather bands to give them the 20′s glam look.  Put on a present for the post processing, and BAM – good as gold.

It definitely helps when these kind of theme parties are promoted – guests that arrive in style make the photobooth ‘that’ much more realistic.  The staff here also did a great job getting involved, all in all – worked out for the best.

Here are a few faves from the night!

Justin Douglas - Love the feel of the photos.December 15, 2011 – 7:45 pm

Jen - haha – these are great :)December 15, 2011 – 6:59 pm

Ashley Goodwin - yo dude, these are fun! Being a fan of Boardwalk Empire myself, I’d agree. the B&W is perfection.

Wait. What was the magic wand in the back of your car for? Ohhh the things that fall out of your trunk when you do photobooths. And I was wondering if you set up a tripod for your photobooths because they are always the same height but I see here you didn’t, I like the different angles! Way to work the furniture!December 15, 2011 – 1:43 pm

Dan Dilworth - Just the right hint of tone to these B&W’s to give them that 1920′s feel buddy. Great selective use of post to drive the concept home!December 15, 2011 – 12:16 pm
