The first day I arrived in Paris, I made it a point to visit the palace of Versaille.
I remembered learning about this in my AP Euro class back in high school, so it brought back all sorts of memories of late nights studying, long essays, and crazy songs about the Renaissance. (Funny story about this class actually, I got an F on the final exam and an A in the class, with college credit too! Ask me about it next time I see you…)
The layout was incredible…the biggest palace property I’ve EVER seen. If you needed a place to go and read some day, this would be the ULTIMATE reading park.
There were cyclists, rowing teams, and tour guides all strolling through the palace courtyards during the day. Louis XIV definitely hit the nail on the head with this estate – I couldn’t imagine a better place to relax.
All in all, it was an incredibly laid back day, and on top – I caught it on a sunny day. (RARE in Paris.)
