Photowalk: Valencia, ES

I know I’ve been saying it quite a bit lately, and it seems to be a running theme with my travels, but *this* city has raised the bar even MORE on what I’m expecting from Europe.

Okay, well, maybe not the entire city – but the convention center with the reflecting pool made for some amazing photos. If you’ve seen some of the pictures on my facebook page, it almost looks unreal. The colors are SO vibrant and the view is just incredible. Reminded me of the San Diego convention center, except 10 times more impressive.

Was only in Valencia for a short time, but got to do a little shopping, but nothing ghetto (see below for the joke). We went to the ice skating rink (pictured below as the big purple building) and apparently people are as clumsy in Spain as they are in the US (pictured below).

In addition to the reflecting pool, I went to the cathedral and saw the holy grail. Now, being a little naive, I actually didn’t know about this until my friend Ana told me – but the Spaniards actually believe that this is the cup Jesus drank from during the last supper. It made me really want to break the glass and try to take a drink, but at the same time, I didn’t want to end up like the guy from Indiana Jones.

Whether or not I believe Jesus actually drank from the cup, or whether or not he just took a glass of wine to be polite to his hosts – I’m not going to say. But it was still pretty cool to see such a well-known artifact. The cathedral was amazing on it’s own, but I’ll let the photo walk tell the story. Enjoy!
