I arrived in the UK late on a Friday night, and strolled through customs not-knowing they are ADAMANT about knowing every little detail of your trip. The girl behind the checkout counter didn’t really take to my laid-back and casual attitude at first, and for a minute – it seemed like I might not be getting to visit the UK after-all.
I didn’t have my aunts address on hand, so I was given a little trouble about where I would be staying – in addition to her suspicion that I was planning on becoming a freelance photographer based out of the UK. Imagine that! (I think I might need some more sun…)
After getting in to meet my aunt & two twin cousins, we headed up to Aldwincle (their hometown) for the night. We went out to the town center (a 1/4 mile stretch of pubs, shops, and park benches) and grabbed a beer.
Everyone kept commenting about how bad the weather was, but I felt like it was really an “authentic” English experience.
Here are the shots of my family’s hometown of Aldwincle – awesome place!

Claudia - Nice job Tim! You made every second you had in Europe count and it seems like you had fun. We should get together soon so you can tell me more about your adventures.March 9, 2011 – 1:33 am
Jackie Sayward - I love your photos!! It’s so very “England” It reminds me of the times when my English Dad took me back to his home town. I just recently got my first professional DSLR and want to go take some pics on it right now.March 8, 2011 – 12:55 pm
