This past September, I flew out to New York to shoot a few events for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The trip was scheduled the DAY AFTER I returned from a 2 week vacation to Bali & Thailand, so by the time I arrived in Manhattan, my internal clock was completely out of whack.
Anyways, remember what I said about using past blog posts to book new gigs? Well, here’s another case in point.
I was caught off guard a bit by the 2nd show I had to shoot, which was “A la Disposition”. The models were set up in a room just standing in pose – no runway or catwalk or even BOXES for them to stand on for that matter. There were a ton of people and no boundary between photographers & models, so I had to get creative to give it that “high production” feel.
Here are the shots from this show.

And here are the photos from the Michael Kors fashion show.

The man himself.

And some favorites from the general event.

Jessica - That show from the first show must have been intense. Love how you made it work though! Gorgeous.December 12, 2011 – 6:38 am

Sara Wilbur - I love how BOLD these photos are – they really capture the feeling of being at the event and what it would feel like to wear the clothes. Great work! Also, adding “shoot New York Fashion Week” to my bucket list.December 10, 2011 – 10:06 am
Christy - Tim, you are seriously blowing my mind with these! damn.December 10, 2011 – 2:17 am
Mioara Dragan - Can we switch lives for a day?December 9, 2011 – 7:01 pm
David Pascua - Really enjoy viewing your images, Tim! I entered the realm of model photography in April, and I’d think it would be awesome to attend Fashion Week in NYC next year if I could…December 9, 2011 – 3:27 pm
Tiffany Manning - Gorgeous images, gorgeous clothes! So how do you get in to shoot one of those shows, anyway? :)December 9, 2011 – 3:17 pm
Lisa - I don’t know if you realized you captured some of the really big names in fashion – such as Anna Wintour – sitting in the front row. She’s the one in the big round dark sunglasses; you can see her clearly in your shot of Michael Kors and also in a couple others. Pretty much every person in the front row of that show was some big name in fashion. Nicely done, Tim!December 9, 2011 – 2:42 pm
Kari Nichols - Very impressive sir!!! I’ll bet money you book something new off of this post… Cheers!December 9, 2011 – 1:09 pm
Maria - Ha! We both posted about NY and clothes… But I gotta admit – I wish I was there during the fashion week! You totally nailed the “high production” look, awesome job! And ahhh… I love Michael Kors.December 9, 2011 – 12:22 pm
SarahV - You killed it! Love the shots, Tim!December 9, 2011 – 12:04 pm
