Mistral at Suzie’s Farm

The other day I was asked to cover an event being held at a farm. In all my days working as a photographer, I don’t think I’ve done anything quite like this – but I’m so glad I did.

Mistral, a restaurant featured at the Loew’s Coronado Resort, took their chefs out of the hotel and set up an on-the-spot kitchen at Suzies farm in south San Diego. The whole idea behind the event was to create a 3 course meal for guests made with ingredients freshly picked from the ground that day.

In addition to a tour of the property, guests were given samples of some of the specialty cocktails they offer at the hotel along with some of the best samples of freshly cooked halibut I’ve ever tasted. The vegetable lineup was incredible – enough to make me want to take the girlfriend to their restaurant. (And I’m no veggie guy…so that’s saying a lot!)

Here’s a storyline of the day via photo format – to check out some more info on this event and any future events they’ll be having, click here.
