Mike and Steph Engaged!

Had an awesome time hanging out with these two. I’ve known Mike through working different events the last few years or so – has stood out as a solid guy in business & through his personality.

We met up downtown to capture a few shots of the two around the gaslamp district, finishing up at the Sé hotel.

*On a sidenote, I’ve noticed that whenever I get the chance to photograph a couple, it’s pretty clear to see the dynamic of the relationship between two people. I’ll admit, there have been some times in the past when I’ve been a little worried for certain couples. But Mike and Steph? It’s SOLID.

One of my favorite photos (which was actually un-intentional) is the one where Mike is holding Steph’s bag. At first glance you might laugh and reminisce about the time you went shopping with your girlfriend and held her bags while she shopped in forever 21…(oh, that was just me? Shh) But when it comes down to it, Mike’s not one to bat an eye at stuff like this – he’s her guy, her rock, her support that’s gonna be there for her when it’s important. When you meet a guy that understands it all, like it’s second-nature to be there to protect & guide his girl…it’s a nice relief to know there are solid guys out there that know “what’s up”. I know these two are going to have an awesome time together, and with that – one bitchin’ reception at the wedding.

Thanks again for sharing your time with me you two!

Kelly Douglas - This is easily one of the best engagement shoots I have seen… no cheesy posing and natural light that doesn’t take over the whole photo and is not over exposed? Yes please.June 14, 2011 – 8:00 am

Maria - Great job Tim!

Each time I look at your work I realize that there’s so much more to learn. It’s always like a breath of fresh air for me (yes, I stole your expression and keep using on special occasions :P), thank you for making me push myself harder.

The whole shoot looks very solid, the color tones are so nice and warm. I love the shot with the sun flare peeking through the stairs and a little bit of the “tilt shift lens” effect. There’s something about the very last image that makes it so real and um… lasting.

PS Your comment about the photo with a purse made me smile. :)June 13, 2011 – 9:50 pm
