As opposed to New Years resolutions (I feel like facebook/twitter is clogged with false promises these days), I like to approach things month-by-month this year, as I feel like 30 days can only handle ‘so much’ – that, and the fact that I think about launch dates according to other events & timing.
January and February are 2 big in-house cleaning months, and I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking forward to them. They are usually the months when I have the least amount of external work, so it’s always nice to be able to put that time into my own business, and maybe work in a little bit of travel too.
Here’s the checklist for January:
-New Portfolio Imagery
-New logo & color scheme (making the crown more simple, keeping the watermark though)
-New Branding collateral (CD inserts, business cards, considering new album designs)
-Outside marketing (guest post on creative live [goes up Thursday!], 2 guest interviews)
-Plan Iceland, Sweden, and Denmark trip for the end of January
-Get a mic set-up for video updates (planning on doing more of these in the next year, but want to have quality set-up before promoting)
-Get in touch with the people I’ve needed to collaborate with (you have this group too – get on it!)
-Begin decorating my house (Inspired by Ashley Goodwin)
-Develop a newsletter platform (I’ve wanted to do this for awhile. I feel it would be great to send out a monthly blast)
That’s what’s on the docket for this month! Excited for everything to come, and I feel like this year is going to be the best one yet. What I look forward to the most is getting to know more of you that read my blog, but might not comment as often. I’ll be at WPPI next month – so if you’re going, get in touch!

Ashley Goodwin - I’d love to see what you want to do with the place. Put those boys to work on a wood wall! And make a trip to Ikea and get crafty.January 3, 2012 – 9:34 pm
Klaus - Cool, I’m going to Denmark too end of January. Actually I used to live there, so gotta visit friends and family every now and then :) What city are you going to, Copenhagen, I imagine?January 3, 2012 – 12:15 pm
