This past year has been the best year of my life. I’ve had 5 ‘trips of a lifetime‘ in the past 9 months.
Why? How?
Because I decided to just start LIVING. There was no pivotal moment, but rather an on-going desire to get out and experience all of what life has to offer. (There’s a too much to fit in one lifetime!)
I’m not trying to come from some high-horse, but more than a few people have told me my ‘lifestyle’ inspires them. And you know what? I think that’s AWESOME. But you know what’s even BETTER? If they ‘did’ something with that inspiration. It kills me to see friends and people I know stuck in a job they hate, relationship that’s killing them, or not living the lifestyle they want because of fear holding them back.
In a nutshell, this is the way I see it – you’re only young once, and the time to experience life with no responsibilities and an able body/mind fades as you get older. So make the most of what you have now.
Hate your job? Quit.
Stuck in a bad relationship? End it.
Live in a place that doesn’t give you what you want? Move.
Want more out of life? Go after it.
Your better life is waiting for you, and you know what you have to do to meet it. All it’s going to take on your end is a little will power and determination.
What’s the worst that could happen? You fall on your face and end up in a little credit card debt? Boo-hoo. Life goes on.
You’ll never know if you don’t try, and you’ll often be surprised at the outcome when you do.
One of the most amazing things I see is when people pursue their passions and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. If you’ve been wanting to live the life you want and have been kicking rocks just dreaming & watching others take the glory – it’s time to make it happen. You wont want to look back on your life with the biggest “what if” feeling possible.
You know what you need to do. And if you don’t – you have the resources to figure out how. It’s the 21st century, and knowledge is accessible everywhere. So get on it. And then tell me about it.
“Tim!?” You ask. “Where is this coming from??? Are you trying to be the next Tony Robbins?”
No, but I find it extremely rewarding to see someone to grow and live the life they want.
So here’s a swift kick in the ass for both of us. To be honest with you, I’ve been having a ton of fun the past few months living life to the fullest and have been managing my work well, but haven’t necessarily been progressing towards the next step.
I want more. And it’s time to grow. So this post today is the kick-start on progress, and I’d absolutely love it if you’d join me.
If you’ve been looking for a sign – this is it. Quit your job. Pursue your passion. Start living the way you want, you’ll thank yourself later. TRUST ME.
Hit me up in the comments if you dig the post, and feel free to email me if you want to tell me about how you’re going to start making things happen. And PS – if you’re already making things happen, I’ve got a virtual hi-five waiting for you.
PPS – if you haven’t hear the song by Incubus (the title of the blog) – do yourself a favor and go spotify it.

Edward Harry - “Someday” is a very powerful word. Powerful enough to waste your life. Screw that! Right on, Tim!December 8, 2011 – 2:11 am
Justin Douglas - MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER!!!!!!!!!!November 13, 2011 – 10:00 pm

Ashley Goodwin - “So get on it. Then tell me about it.”-Love the Gary V. in there. ;)
You keep as ALL inspired & motivated friend! Love ya like whoa!October 19, 2011 – 8:04 am
Christy - Tim, i’ve been following you since I saw you on the Creative Live thingy with Jasmine Star. :) Anyway, I really loved reading this post. I totally feel the same way! Life is too short to just sit back and never do anything. I just returned from shooting my first ‘destination’ wedding in Las Vegas. I almost turned it down because I didn’t believe I was good enough and could handle it. But I thought what the heck and took it anyway and had an absolute blast. Life is what you make it. I’m excited to see where your next trip takes you. :)

Liz - THANK YOU.
Your inspiration comes from a distant cousin. Funny how strangers can think and believe the same. I am 29, treading water in the same old town, going no where…(on the Least Coast ha). My dreams have escaped me, but in the end need to speak louder than my actions. Perhaps this will change THIS year.
My camera has been broken, and I want and need to fix it but cannot. My pocket book is empty. I still have my Nikon SLR (film)…wondering if I should bring it back and go with it as it has yet to fail 12 years later. All you have to maintain is a battery and film. Ho hum, thoughts?September 29, 2011 – 5:50 pm
Erin Oveis Brant - Amen. And I’ll take that hi-five in person when I get out there (in less than 35 days!!!)!September 29, 2011 – 2:23 pm
Lisa Glazebrook - I want to thank you for the inspiration. I took a trip cross country to go to Burning Man, and it was definitely a life changing experience. I’m not sure I would have jumped out on the limb and did it if it wasn’t for all the inspiration I received when I was in Denver. But, as you said, I want more!!!! I’m not done traveling. I can’t wait for my next adventure!September 29, 2011 – 10:08 am
Jason Kirby - Couldn’t agree with you more, it tears me apart seeing my close friends back down from opportunities that only come once because of things that will still be there tomorrow. Hopefully someone takes your post to heart and does something about it.September 29, 2011 – 7:26 am
