Cabo San Lucas Wedding – Sherri and Brendan

Before we get on with the story of their wedding day, I’d like to give you some background about these two so you can know them a little better.  Sherri works as an independent hairstylist who’s business is flourishing, while Brendan works on commercial production campaigns.  They both reside in Los Angeles, but a lot of friends and memories are home in *San Diego*.

One little anecdote I’d like to share about these two is the fact that they took a vacation to Thailand together after only dating for 3 months.  Having done something similar recently myself, I thought this was awesome and obviously – we had a lot in common in terms of travel/fun etc.

Sherri and Brendan are some of the most caring people I’ve met.  They’re so hospitable, and throughout the entire weekend in Cabo – I could see that they mere making sure everyone was having an awesome time.  Friends of theirs became new friends of each other, and the demographic/age gap didn’t seem to exist – everyone there was all about having a great time.

So let’s experience their day together.

Brendan getting ready.

Sherri getting ready.

The rings.

The shoes.

The dress.

Brendan enjoys a drink, and so does Sherri – staying true to Cabo style.

Ready to kick some ass.

Big day today.

Sherri’s Dad seeing her in the wedding dress for the first time.

And she looks gorgeous.

The first look!

Brendan checking her out & getting a little “caught in the moment.”

We cruise around the venue for a few fun portraits.

And now it’s time to go get married.

For these next two shots, I wanted to use the composition to tell a story – Brendan with shadows leading towards the ceremony site (future).

And with the tradition of father giving his daughter away, I feel this shot conveys the idea of Sherri moving on to the next step in her life (walking out of frame to something new)

Ben is a great officiant  :)

Love the way the light catches this expression on Sherri’s face.

Looking at each other now as husband & wife.

Checking out the new jewelry.

Headed down to the beach for a few fun shots near the water.

And came back to the site for a little breather.

And got this shot  :)

While Sherri & Brendan took time for themselves, the guests enjoyed a few signature cocktails.  And look at that MOON!

The reception venue.

If only he knew what he was in for that night.

Snuck a few candid shots while the videographers did their thing.

The grand entrance!

And the toasts!

Some funny toasts.

Some REALLY funny toasts.

And some heartfelt ones.

A ‘congratulations/so proud/so happy’ hug from Brendan’s sister.

The first dance.

Sherri & her dad.

Brendan & his mom.

The flower toss and garter belt!  Wanted to juxtapose these to show off the different reactions of the guys/girls  :)

Impressive one-handed grab…’regular Jerry Rice going for that bouquet.

She caught it!!

He got it…

Epic cupcakes.

Attempted cupcake smash from Brendan.

The look of revenge is in her eyes.

And it’s oh-so-sweet.  (Literally)

You know things are going to go well with the family when the father-of-the-bride gets the frosting off of the groom’s face.

Solid picture of the guys.  The kind of photo every guy should have of all his boys back in the “good ol’ days”

Time to get the party started  :)

I think Brendan’s parents took home the dance trophy that night.

Ben letting everyone know that even though the venue’s closing…the after party continues in downtown!

And we’ll leave it at that  ; )
