Convention Visitor’s Bureau Awards Party

Last night, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego hosted the awards party for the Convention and Visitors Bureau. I was brought on to cover the event. The night featured hosted cocktails and live music – the hotel brought in a local band, which got the crowd really into the dancing. It was cool to see Hard…

Ali - Great photos Tim! There are so many colors! Looks like the night was a blast!September 28, 2010 – 7:29 pm

Ryan Cross - Nice work on these photos Tim! Really says “Hard Rock” with all the musical details you included. The guitars at the top, the soundboard, the shot of the guy playing guitar (i like it better you didn’t get his head, has more of an abstract look to it), the singer, and the woman with her hands in the air. Paints the picture just perfectly. But you already knew that…September 27, 2010 – 5:58 pm

Vince N - Great pics Tim! Nice work!September 18, 2010 – 7:06 pm

Alyssa Cruz - That martini glass in the center does a good job of tying it all together. Of course I would talk about the martini glass, lolSeptember 18, 2010 – 3:29 pm

FJ - The bottom half of these pictures ROCK. The others are good, but pretty much every one of the photos on the bottom half of this collage is sickSeptember 17, 2010 – 11:31 pm

Lindsey W - Oh cool! Great collection of photos, it really does a good job “telling the story” of the night!September 17, 2010 – 1:45 pm

Restoring faith in humanity

Over the course of this month, I’m going to be traveling to a lot of places I’ve never been before, staying with people I don’t really know too well, and walking around with some expensive gear in foreign countries. Sounds like a recipe for trouble, doesn’t it? Well, you know what? No. These days, a…

Jen - Haha great post Tim, I love it when you post stuff like this…while I love all your photos, I think it’s great when you break outside the normal image-heavy posts and talk about an issue or something important we should think about in life. <3October 3, 2010 – 4:22 pm

Ray Padmore - Tim, I think this post illustrates a great point. Although, I’ve got to say that when traveling with such expensive gear like you have, while it is important to “show the real side” of the country, it doesn’t mean that you have to go to places other people are scared of. Most times, that is a pretty good indication that there might be something to be a little wary of. Err on the side of precaution when traveling with those costly lenses, no photo is worth experiencing an altercation over.October 1, 2010 – 12:29 pm

Ali - Hahaha great post Tim. But in all seriousness, you made some good points about the way we view the world these days. I feel like there is so much direction to live in fear via the news, etc…it gets frustrating sometimes. It’s good to hear you ignoring all the hoopla and just doing your own thing. I’m sure you’ll be just fine, because while it may be dangerous in some places, the world as a whole is a GOOD place. Keep us updated on your travels!September 30, 2010 – 9:41 pm

Alyssa Cruz - Hahahaha that last part had me cracking up!September 29, 2010 – 6:59 pm

Mike - I could see Sherry saying something like that. Haha that’s funnySeptember 25, 2010 – 12:08 pm

Jeff G - Man…I definitely would be nervous walking around with a 5d mk ii and some L lenses in another country…even in my own city after midnight…ha!September 19, 2010 – 11:38 am

Clare - Lol your girlfriend is funny. How is she ever going to travel with you and experience the world if she’s scared of it? You can’t live life in fear of the unknownSeptember 17, 2010 – 8:22 pm

Mike - Hahaha great post Tim. Has truth to it at the same timeSeptember 17, 2010 – 12:47 pm

Bellingham Photo Walk

Lately I’ve been pretty into getting photos of the night sky wherever I go. (This post has some of my best night shots I’ve done so far.) As you could see in my Colorado post and Lake Tahoe post, it has been really cool to capture the night sky – especially when it’s clear enough…

Brandon - Nice photos, sir. Wish we could get something like that down here in SD! Unfortunately I think we have a bit too much light pollution and fog rolling through. I guess I’ll have to take a trip to the mountains or something.September 16, 2010 – 11:50 pm

A quick trip back home

I thoroughly enjoy every chance I get to visit my parents. In Colorado, my mom makes the best dinners and it’s great to see my friends from back home. In Bellingham, I get to see my 5-(and a half)-year-old brother and get caught up on what’s going on in his life, along with how my…

San Francisco Engagement

Got a quick session in with Whitney and Conrad, just in time to catch some of the golden light peeking through the bay area fog just before sunset. We stopped by Alamo square to see the painted ladies, and then hit some of the hilltops to get some cool views of the city. These two…
