Photowalk: New York

I spent a couple days walking around New York – and as anyone will tell you – it’s not nearly enough time to see all this city has to offer. I made it a point to check out the financial district, central park, brooklyn, soho and some of the more iconic spots most everyone has...

Moses de los Santos - Ah…my home turf!!

You did New York some justice! Nice shooting Tim.

MosesJanuary 24, 2012 – 5:09 pm

Philip Eads - Moped/model photo – instant awesome. Great work my man, nice job.October 17, 2010 – 11:13 am

Brandon - Ahhhh, nice stuff Timmy! You should print some of these out and put em up on the wall!October 15, 2010 – 11:54 am

Kim Mathers - Hahaha that shot of the ‘models’ is hilarious – you were right, they totally do have that modelesque look. I can’t imagine what else you probably saw there, but New York is a different world on it’s own. Doesn’t have to be fashion week for you to be seeing people dressed all fancy and such, that’s what I love about that place. So cool you got to be there right around fashion week, I bet it was super cool to see everyone so formal/fashion forward

Ok I’m gonna stop writing this novel on your blog now, but I just wanted to check out the photos, you have an awesome style, and I’m jealous of all your travels. See you soon!October 11, 2010 – 11:35 am

Rachel Phelps - W.O.W. Tim! You have just convinced me to buy a ticket out there to visit that city, it looks so cool in all your photos, I’m sure you had a blast!
Did you know anyone out there or were you just staying at hotels or something? I really want to go out there but I don’t know anyone, and I feel like it is a place I need to go, but I’ve also heard the hotels are super expensive!
Ahhh lolOctober 5, 2010 – 6:01 pm

Luis Ortega - Awesome job man. The details in these photos are great! I wonder what that police/gov escort was all about in those top photos…the shot you got at Times Square with all the cabs is super sick, I hope you weren’t in front of them when they started to go though lol. Nice pairing of the red bike & the red building on the left, not sure if anyone noticed that – or if you even intended to do that on purpose lolOctober 5, 2010 – 4:59 pm

Brian - You were right man…what a playground for a photographer! Man I could get lost taking photos there, you must have been in heaven!October 3, 2010 – 10:39 am

Angela Faulkner - “Ain’t times square”

So awesome. I love it. It’s cool to see when people can get creative with using something that’s already there. Kind of a mini version of that ‘subway boy’ graffiti artist or whatever was running around New York this yearOctober 2, 2010 – 5:12 pm

Sarah Langley - Oh my god that dog is huge! Wow I want one!!! Of course it would probably destroy my house lolOctober 2, 2010 – 9:45 am

Tim Durand - Sweet shots of the buildings in the first photo. Looks like it was somewhere near the financial district or something – the shape makes it unique, I don’t think there are many like that in other parts of the cityOctober 1, 2010 – 7:33 pm

Jesse Hewitt - Awesome pics man – I love the graffiti shots you got, brooklyn is such an awesome place to get those kind of photos tooOctober 1, 2010 – 6:43 pm

Sharon Holmes - Oh I love the photo of the brick-layered street! I love that style, oh I wish we had some of those out here on the west coast!October 1, 2010 – 2:49 pm

Amy Kendricks - Awesome photos Tim!!! So jealous of your trip <3October 1, 2010 – 1:42 pm

New York Engagement Session

Rob Moreno - Wow, you really got the whole city in this one, didn’t you? Haha, nice work!October 12, 2010 – 12:16 pm

Susan Pryor - That girl sure looks happy in that shot with the ring…she better be lol!October 11, 2010 – 3:21 pm

Ken Raynell - Great shots at the end there in grand central station. I really like the light balance going on, has a classy look to itOctober 8, 2010 – 9:15 am

Josh Delgado - To add to Matt’s comment, you gotta check out the lower west side (financial district & battery park) and long island if you have the time. New York is an awesome city, and it’s hard to get to see everything you want to see in even just a week’s time. I’m not sure how long you were there or whatever, but I feel like it takes a few trips to see everything in its complete glory.October 4, 2010 – 11:57 am

Chris Reyes - That shot of the couple standing in grand central station is great, cool to have the motion all around them while they’re planted in the middle. Nice job in the creative framing of these shots – the brooklyn bridge looks awesome at night!October 2, 2010 – 7:23 pm

Frances Valdez - Aw they’re such a cute couple! That girl looks like she’s a model or somethingOctober 2, 2010 – 3:11 pm

Matt Salazar - NY is an awesome town. If you’re still around you should check out soho and williamsburg – cool eclectic spots in their own regardOctober 1, 2010 – 1:09 pm

David Triggs - Cool shots! You could get lost taking photos in central park alone in one dayOctober 1, 2010 – 11:47 am

Jamie Vargas - How did you pick on where to do these photos? The city is soooooooooooooo gorgeous!! I <3 NY!October 1, 2010 – 9:51 am

Mary Porter - I’m jealous of how much you travel. NY looks like so much fun! I’ve never been, but I’ve wanted to go FOREVER. Will you take me there next time you go? And we can get some fun photos in central park too? :o)September 30, 2010 – 2:31 pm

Photowalk: Chicago

Took a stroll around the city during my short stay and got some night-time shots of some of the more well-known areas. Thought I’d try something different and include some people in this session.

Chicago Engagement Session

Shot a quick engagement session in the downtown area of Chicago…let me tell you – take a taxi or a bus! I can’t believe how bad the parking is in Chicago…(and I thought San Francisco was bad!) However, I must say that the chicago scenery has some of the most gorgeous city-scapes and lake views...

Each year, San Diego (amongst a few other cities) plays host to Thread – an event designed to showcase independent designers, artists, and stylists centered around the San Diego fashion culture. This past Saturday I had the privilege to photograph the most important day of this couple’s lives. A mutual friend, Emily, introduced us and suggested we connect earlier this year. Ben Southers - Great work Tim, nice job on the composition on these shots. The guitars at the top, the soundboard, the shot of the guy playing guitar (i like it better you didn’t get his head, has more of an abstract look to it), the singer, and the woman with her hands in the air. Restoring faith in humanity

Over the course of this month, I’m going to be traveling to a lot of places I’ve never been before, staying with people I don’t really know too well, and walking around with some expensive gear in foreign countries. Jen - Haha great post Tim, I love it when you post stuff like this…while I love all your photos, I think it’s great when you break outside the normal image-heavy posts and talk about an issue or something important we should think about in life. <3October 3, 2010 – 4:22 pm

Ray Padmore - Tim, I think this post illustrates a great point. Although, I’ve got to say that when traveling with such expensive gear like you have, while it is important to “show the real side” of the country, it doesn’t mean that you have to go to places other people are scared of. Most times, that is a pretty good indication that there might be something to be a little wary of. Err on the side of precaution when traveling with those costly lenses, no photo is worth experiencing an altercation over.October 1, 2010 – 12:29 pm

Ali - Hahaha great post Tim. But in all seriousness, you made some good points about the way we view the world these days. I feel like there is so much direction to live in fear via the news, etc…it gets frustrating sometimes. It’s good to hear you ignoring all the hoopla and just doing your own thing. I’m sure you’ll be just fine, because while it may be dangerous in some places, the world as a whole is a GOOD place. Keep us updated on your travels!September 30, 2010 – 9:41 pm
