I spent a couple days walking around New York – and as anyone will tell you – it’s not nearly enough time to see all this city has to offer. I made it a point to check out the financial district, central park, brooklyn, soho and some of the more iconic spots most everyone has...

Hahaha that shot of the ‘models’ is hilarious – you were right, they totally do have that modelesque look. I can’t imagine what else you probably saw there, but New York is a different world on it’s own. Doesn’t have to be fashion week for you to be seeing people dressed all fancy and such, that’s what I love about that place. So cool you got to be there right around fashion week, I bet it was super cool to see everyone so formal/fashion forward

Did you know anyone out there or were you just staying at hotels or something? I really want to go out there but I don’t know anyone, and I feel like it is a place I need to go, but I’ve also heard the hotels are super expensive!

To add to Matt’s comment, you gotta check out the lower west side (financial district & battery park) and long island if you have the time. New York is an awesome city, and it’s hard to get to see everything you want to see in even just a week’s time. I’m not sure how long you were there or whatever, but I feel like it takes a few trips to see everything in its complete glory.October 4, 2010 – 11:57 am

Tim, I think this post illustrates a great point. Although, I’ve got to say that when traveling with such expensive gear like you have, while it is important to “show the real side” of the country, it doesn’t mean that you have to go to places other people are scared of. Most times, that is a pretty good indication that there might be something to be a little wary of. Err on the side of precaution when traveling with those costly lenses, no photo is worth experiencing an altercation over.October 1, 2010 – 12:29 pm
